The platform for anti-corruption communication “DeCorruption” starts its work. It shall unite public authorities, advertisement business representatives, international and civic organizations and become a centralized space for anti-corruption communication campaigns. The platform “DeCorruption” together with Transparency International Ukraine has already launched the pilot communication campaign “Corruption Must Be Spotted”.
The official launch of the communication platform “DeCorruption” will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday on September 08, 2016 at Kyiv History Museum (7, Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Str.).
During two previous years corruption fighting in Ukraine was powerfully pushed. It took place due to improved laws and institutional capacity building. But the assessment results of the current situation, conducted by the Target Team for Anti-Corruption Reform (established according to the decision of the National Reform Council under the aegis of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine) show that there exist some problems with effective communication, which shall be necessarily settled, in particular, there should be organized and held regular communication campaigns for awareness raising and behavioral change of Ukrainian citizens. “Implementation of the effective communication system providing freedom of actions and motivation to take part in this process, in general, will promote realization of the anti-corruption reform in Ukraine”, says Ihor Honcharenko, acting manager of the Project Office of the National Reform Council.
The Target Team for Anti-Corruption Reform has developed the framework communication strategy on corruption fighting to increase the citizens’ interest in corruption fighting and development of potential possibilities for strengthening support of the anti-corruption communication in the society. One of the key tools to implement the anti-corruption communication strategy and the reform in general shall become the communication platform “DeCorruption”, which will provide communication systems of wide range of stakeholders and become a space with equal possibilities for access and high level of professionalism, allow achieving synergy in using limited resources and increasing sufficiently the effectiveness of anti-corruption communication initiatives. The Platform was created within the joint project of the National Reform Council and Transparency International Ukraine with support of PACT Inc. in Ukraine. “DeCorruption” in cooperation with Transparency International Ukraine has already launched the pilot communication campaign “Corruption Must Be Spotted”, including external advertising, radio spots and anti-corruption comics.
